A Foundry Tour -- For a behind the scenes look at an art foundry, make an appointment to tour Art Castings of Colorado, 511 Eighth St. SE (tel. 970/667-1114, ext. 15; www.artcastings.com), which gives foundry tours Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Cost is $5 per adult, $4 for seniors, free for children 16 and under; children under 10 must have adult supervision. Tours take about an hour, and those taking the tours are asked to wear closed shoes; safety glasses are provided.
Benson Sculpture Garden More than 60 sculptures are permanently displayed among the trees, plants, and ponds at this city park, and three or four more are added each year. This is also the site of Sculpture in the Park, the largest juried outdoor sculpture show in the United States, which takes place each year over the second weekend in August. The show, with all submissions available for purchase, features some 1,600 works by about 200 different sculptors from across the United States and Canada. Allow 1 hour.
Loveland Museum/Gallery Changing exhibits of local historical subjects and the work of regional, national, and international artists fill this fine, small museum. A "Life on Main Street" exhibit area depicts Loveland at the turn of the 20th century, and there's an exhibit on the city's Great Western Sugar Factory. The museum also sponsors programs on art and history, workshops, concerts, and poetry readings. Allow an hour.
